Street Light Outage
Reported Saturday, 1 August 2026 at 9:08 pm, Highway 74, Canterbury, Christchurch 8052, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Can the lighting in the Winters Road pedestrian underpass be improved. Many times it is dark when all the street lights are on. It is also possibly possible to walk through the underpass without the lights coming on. It appears there is a single sensor midway in the underpass on the south side. If walking on the north side of the underpass the sensor does not detect a person. This should either be lit when streetlights are on, or there needs to be sensors at either end of the underpass.
