Roading/Streets
Reported Wednesday, 20 November 2019 at 6:57 pm, 121, Tuam Street, Christchurch, 8011, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Why have speed humps been added to segregated cycle paths? I am curious to the logic behind these. As a cyclist with narrow commuter tyres and a rigid frame, these are a best uncomfortable to ride over - at worst dangerous with the risk of either throwing you off the bike or result in you taking a more dangerous path around the bumps (in the tuam st example in photo, in the gutter, in the st Asaph st two way cycleway section, the ped path closer to vehicle driveway exits). I’m curious about the explanation
