Park - General Request
Reported Saturday, 10 October 2026 at 10:46 am, 419 Marine Parade, South New Brighton, Christchurch 8062, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
On beach, entrance Beatty Street. Used to be a small driftwood tippee for kids for the longest time has recently turned into a substantial structure with table chairs and room to sleep in. It is now being used as a hang out space for groups drinking incl. driving their cars to it along the beach. Coming over the dunes to go for a walk it no longer feels comfortable or safe. Walked the dog today at 10.30am and someone is inside using it as overnight shelter.
