The reporter’s words
Vandalism of parking meters is rife in my neighbourhood but the lack of thought in reinstating damaged parking meters is just as disturbing. The small neighbourhood community around the boat sheds precinct take on much of the maintenance of the berms and footpaths etc so when the old meter pad is just left there and a new one built beside it we feel that our efforts to keep the area tidy are overlooked. Please put the meter back where it was with the existing little bitumen footpath extension where people stand. For security the trees should be trimmed above the meter to allow the street light directly overhead to illuminate the meter.
