The reporter’s words
The shingle path through St James Park has had no levelling for over 8 years. Subsequently the main path from St James Ave past the children’s playground has many hollows. When it rains these hollows fill up. This causes visitors to walk on the grass. Worse still - the City Care service vehicles drive down the grass rather than navigate the puddles, causing more damage to the grass. The path is getting wider year by year by ‘creep’. Its not s problem right now but given the first rain of the year will sit on top due to the firmness of the ground - we will be back to off track driving again.
