A must do when you’re in Christchurch! Large indoor/outdoor predominately food market in the heart of Christchurch. Bars, coffee, desserts, seafood and food from all over the world, plus local artisan products. There is seriously something for everyone here, lots of dining space upstairs, clean toilets, and prices quite reasonable. Sadly was only here for one day so did not get to try a lot, I ate at Dosa Hut and it was delicious, and also got a cheese box from Charing Cross Cheesery which was fantastic! Locals in Christchurch are very lucky to have this!
Erin, 4 months agoAmazing. Was not expecting anything like it. So much food and drink to choose from. I couldn't decide what i wanted. Then I noticed the crepery, and that was where I began. I had the lemon sugar crepe omg it was mouth watering delicious. Walked around some more and noticed a toasted sandwich stall,that was so yum. And the good thing is it's all indoors. At the main entrance there was a shop that sold pies. I got 2,one was a pork belly and a and apple sauce, amazing pies. Overall a must if you visit Christchurch.
marci lucas, a month agoWeekend is pretty cramped and busy. But I went again on Monday and it was pretty quiet. Stalls are open but by 4pm they started to close down. Many varieties of food and I’m surprised that there is one Indonesian food stall, I didn’t try it tho. Many places to sit upstairs.

The market includes a cooking school and a fantastic selection of local businesses in the surrounding laneways ranging from gifts and fashion to tattoos! Doors open 7 days at 7.30am. Eateries, bars & restaurants open until late. All traders open: Sunday - Wednesday 10am-8pm and Thursday - Saturday 10am-9pm.
