The reporter’s words
This morning I found a fresh human turd in this alcove of the historic jail cells in the Lyttelton Rose Garden. A dog big enough to do that poo couldn't have squatted in there and my dogs who found it showed an unnatural and disgusting amount of interest. This area is disgusting and needs to be more closely monitored with patrols or CCTV or both. I am a regular walking around there with my dogs (who found the poo) as induce across the road, and am sick of sweeping up broken glass, collecting rubbish, condoms etc from night time unsavoury types visiting to drink, tag and shag. Yes I have brought over my brush and shovel and cleaned up as no one else does except the school caretaker who is on holiday I think. Please can you let me know if anything is being done to increase surveillance and control tagging and damage in this historic area. It is good to see the clock getting fixed but there is no need to wait until the area is repaired to increase rubbish and security patrols/ CCTV. Thanks Greer
