  • My brother from Brisbane and I from Auckland dined here after spotting the Michelin star on our tram tour. The food was fantastic, though the Apple Tarte Tatin could have used more ice cream. Thank you to our waiter Dev, the guy with the hat, ginger mustache, and great smile who made us feel very welcome. His excellent service led us to order more and leave a tip. Highly recommend!Souaistylapreneur Tito, a month ago
  • Visiting from Sydney on a local recommendation, we had dinner at Cellar Door in the historic Arts Centre. What a venue. The Gothic Revival stonework and the setting in the School of Art building overlooking the South Quad, you really feel the history. Wine flights were exceptional with really thoughtful curation and the food was outstanding. Balanced, seasonal and perfect with the wine. The whole place feels relaxed and refined at once. Special mention in the NZ Michelin Guide is well deserved. A perfect winter evening. Do not miss it if you are in Christchurch.Peter Dyer, 2 months ago
  • I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. It’s located in one of the oldest historic buildings where the local university once stood, which gives it a special charm. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations for any dish, wine, or dessert. It was genuinely pleasant to talk with the waiters. In the evening I enjoyed a lovely wine on the terrace, fresh air, perfectly cooked fish with vegetables, a great cheese platter, and the highlight of the night — an apple tarte Tatin. It wasn’t cheap, but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend thisRoman Raifeld, 8 months ago
